Success

While I continue to work on the website. I'd like to take some time to reflect on what it takes to be successful.
To be successful in life you need to put God first in your life and have either talent or education. If you have both you should be extremely successful like the next Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey. If you are talented be prepared to put in blood, sweat, and tears to master your craft like Quincy Jones, Debbie Allen, Michael Jackson and such.
You are also successful if you work and provide for your family not only the basic amenities but try to inspire them so that your child can be the best that they can be.
We as parents have to be our children' s role models first and foremost.
In the meantime....
Here is a link to several scholarships for those going to college:

As a reminder....
And for those that want to sing, rap, dance, act, practice practice practice, showcase your talent, hone your skills, get a twitter so your fans can follow you so when you blow up you have a solid fan base already. Don't just wake up one morning and say "I want to dance", when you don't know anything about dance or the various structures that it involves. Do not wake up and say you "I want to sing", when you can't carry a tune across the street (Autotune is just a fad). Do not say you"I want to act", if you have a bad memory and can't even remember what day of the week it is let alone a monologue.

And for those of you who are extremely talented in more than one vocation or art. Life is too short. Showcase your talent. Stop being shy. Shy don't pay the bills. Shy is not going to get you noticed. But shy will leave you alone in a country of Denial in a state of Depression next to cities of Woulda, Shoulda, and Coulda.

With adequate planning and working our master plan, we can all be successful.

Family Ties

Family is defined as a group of persons of common ancestry; a people or group of peoples regarded as derived from a common stock. We are all family and should conduct ourselves as such and be able to love, respect and support one another unconditionally without bias, judgment and egos getting in the way.

I should not have to write this but due to certain events I have to inform everyone that this is a family blog. What that means is children, adults and elders will be viewing this site. When you post something or reply to the blog it is viewed by everyone on the facebook List, blog subscribers, family email addresses that I have in record from the family reunion.

This blog as well as the one on facebook has certain stipulations. Please be cautious of your language and content. (No foul or coarse language, calling individuals out their name, slander or threats). This is not the place to vent your frustrations or grudge matches. Remember an old adage, "If you have nothing good to say, Don't say anything at all." If these guidelines are not followed you will not only be deleted but blocked permanently from participating on this site and possibly future family endeavors.

Hamilton Family Reunion 2009

This year's event was held at the Kennilworth Inn in Kennilworth, NJ. What can I say! The place was nice, the food was great and the people, were wonderful. I feel truly blessed to have come from such a wonderful family. For those of you who could not be with us here is a recap of the events.

Friday July 3rd: The banquet was truly beautiful. The poem as read by Sean, the family history from Mal'ee and a special recognition to the Matriachs of the family Aunt Lilian Butner and Martha Hamilton (my grandmother, your aunt).

Saturday July 4th: Breakfast, Cookout/Pool Party. After dancing til the am my body was not ready to wake up early for no breakfast. But I did anyway. Even more family came today than yesterday. Once again, the food was great. There was something there for everybody. Meat Lovers, Veggie Lovers, etc. And we closed the evening with dinner at Aunt Denise's. The place had everything, sparklers, firecrackers, good food. Which turned into the Hamilton Family's Got Talent. I had no idea everyone was so talented! From singing, dancing, playing multiple instruments, etc. In addition, I noticed we have a few artists in the family too. As I noticed on facebook. Who's going to be on American Idol America's Got Talent Making the Band? We got next.

Sunday July 5th: Was church services and another cookout at Uncle John's. I don't know how that went because I had to board a plane so I could arrive to work on Monday all rested up. So if you went to Sunday's events please let me know and post a comment, give a shout out. Thanks.
